I have to say that this is quite possibly the best PD I've experienced in a while. I actually learned how to use things that are practical for me to use in the classroom. I made use of delicious and organized all of my bookmarks, which will be useful for me as my home computer is a pc and I don't bookmark everything there that I do for school and vice versa. I then used the bubbl.us application. Great brainstorming tool for the kids. I've posted it two different ways here on the wiki. Then I made a book using ifoto. I'm not sure how to post it on here though because it is taking too damn long to upload. I like the program, but I'm a bit unsure how I could really use it to enhance student learning because the kids, at least at this point, do not have the technology themselves to use it. I will continue to explore the possibilities though. There are so many other programs and sources that I still want to explore. The technology we've explored over the past few days has been helpful. I will obviously not be learning them all. That would be too much and probably a bit fruitless. I know that I won't use them all in my teaching either, but some of them will be used very often. I know that I will be sharing a lot of these sites with friends from other schools because it is all easy to use and helpful. Lastly, to kill time, I spent time just messing around with the other tools. Here are some of my products:
A Reflection photo narrative using photobooth.
At the beginning, I thought I had a big head and knew so much.
But then we started learning all of these new tools , and I started to feel confused.
At the end of the day Friday, I felt a bit back to normal, but my head still felt a little swollen and my eyes couldn't see straight because of the overload of information.
On Saturday morning I woke up early and was not particularly pleased to have to go into school for PD despite the fact that the previous days PD was very helpful.
The confusion set in again once we began learning new tools and programs.
but at the end of the day, when all of the pd was over, I was a very happy Andy!
I managed all of my bookmarks on delicious!
check this shit out:
